Hi everyone, my name is Adam Wong and I am a new graduate of the University of Toronto’s Computer Science specialist program, class of 2015 + PEY!
I will mainly be writing about computer science/technology related topics, but may sometimes get off topic about other things I enjoy, such as swimming or gaming.
Computers and technology have been a part of my existence from a very young age. Comparing the world’s technology as it was in the 1990s to now constantly astounds me at how fast society has developed. This has and always will inspire me to learn, grow and be part of the group that makes the next groundbreaking technological advancement.
So Adam, what exactly is with that strange username?
Actually, “g2lambda” was my username in undergraduate computer science. “g” represents a member of the computer science program (as opposed to the “c” designation that is used for those who take a computer science course as an elective), “2” is from 2012 which is the year I entered the program (I started in 2011 but first year is a generalized year where you aren’t in a specific program yet), and lambda represents many different things. lambda is a term used in many academic fields such as physics (wave length), math and computer science (atomic functions, functional programming) – some of my favorite subjects. YES, I am a nerd and I am proud! 🙂
Well, I guess I will wrap this up before I ramble on too much (oh no, too late!).
